Take a few minutes and look around at the flowers. Determine older blooms from newer ones. Don't only pick the fully open flowers. Pick a few that are only 3/4 way open. If it has a stiff stem and is 3/4 way open, it should be alright.
Cut the stems about 2" longer than you think you'll need them. Strip the lower leaves & drop them in the flower patch.
Gently shake any insects out of your chosen blooms. They don't want to come home with you either. They have plenty of other places to go.
Try taking some photos between the sunflower rows. Just be careful to not damage the plants.
Please don't park in the center in/out driveway. Just walk there. Thank you.
Drive very slowly & carefully. There may be children and other pedestrians everywhere.
Carpool! Plan a group outing & load up into one vehicle. Save gas, save the planet, save the parking area. Make a nice daytrip of it.
Weekdays: Mon, Tues, Wed are typically less busy.
No picnic tables here, but you are welcome to bring your lunch.
You may want to plan a general color scheme. You may want to consider flower shapes: focal flowers, spikes, filler, "fluff".
Have family members or friends who aren't comfortable with crowds? Mon, Tues, Wed are usually not that busy.
Strollers & wagons are fine. Even wheelchairs are possible, with a strong pusher/helper. Hard ground & short mowed grass.
